excellent foodsuperb accommodation.
the location of the hotel was very central and the staff were friendly
The rooms were small and a little dark and need a bit of modernisation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was lovely and the food was delicious. Should we return to Waterford, we would definitely stay at the Granville again.
A little niggle, the shower water pressure was fine when cold but dropped significantly when the hot water was turned on.
We only stayed the one night at the Granville on our way to the ferry from Killarney. We wish we could have stayed there longer. The room was very comfortable and the Early Bird Meal at the restaurant was excellent value. Glyn and Maureen
This Hotel ticks all the boxes. Location, Comfort, Food, nice staff and cleanliness all make it a very pleasant hotel to stay in. We will definitely be returning again very soon for another break.
a pleasant hotel with a very special breakfast hostess "Mary" who did an excellent job at attempting to make up for the terrible nights sleep we endured. (see below for details)
WARNING - Before you book a room here check to ensure there is not a function and then make sure you do NOT accept a room at the back of the hotel. We had a sleepless night due to unacceptably loud music until the early hours and then unruly intoxicated guests charging up and down the corridors 2 or 3 times an hour until 5am. The hotel failed in its responsibility of providing guests that were not a part of the function with acceptable standards of accommodation.
Good central location, nice room and excellent breakfast.
Rattling noises from inside walls and ceiling throughout night - possibly from room above or plumbing/heating.
Excellent hotel, staff very friendly, food excellent good location.
The only fault I had was that the shower was fairly cold.
Lovely old designed Hotel ,frindly staff.Nice room, very clean Bathroom,Food quite Good.
staff were terrible, ate in the resturant and the service was terrible, even though we had it booked our table, they could not find the booking! receptionist was very rude even on arrival, will not be staying in this hotel again, it was my wifes and I wedding anniversary and the service was terrible it actually ruined it for us.Very disapointed.
Did not like the staff the only person that was nice was the door man called Ger.
It is an amazing hotel, the staff were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Old Style and very good service. Staff were very good and it was a pleasure to stay at the Granville Hotel.
The hotel was situated ideally, close to the shops. The bar area was lovely as was the food that was served in it.Nice homely feeling in the hotel.
We were put in rooftop room , on the 4th floor, which faced onto the street. There were roof windows in the room and you would think by the noise of the traffic that there was no glass in the windows. We heard traffic all night and it ruined our stay. When we complained the next morning the young chap at reception told us to request a quiet room the next time. So be warned.
It is a beautiful hotel. The staff was terrific. The pub was great and the food was very good. It is like taking a trip back in time, as it has been completely restored. Fantastic!!!
City centre location, sense of being valued as a customer, breakfast spread, high specification of room decor
I actually did not notice anything particularly eco-friendly about the hotel and I would be an environmentalist (I was at the GIY conference) - if you are eco aware in the way you run the hotel you might make it more obvious - waste binds with multiple sections?, low energy lighting?, solar panels to heat hot water?, water saving taps, shower heads?, minimal packaging on soaps, shampoos?, discouraging use of excessive number of towels?, CHP system? etc. etc. On another less serious but maybe useful note - we found the bed VERY wide - while it gives a sense of grandness it reduces the sense of intimacy - could have almost been sleeping in separate beds
